Putting the kibosh on designing new logos (for now).

The William & Mary Visual Identity Committee met for the first time last week and one of the committee’s first tasks will be an assessment of logos and marks currently in use. Until the committee can make some headway, Creative Services will not design new logos for campus departments and offices.

We actually get a fair number of requests for this sort of thing. But designing new logos now will only further complicate the work of the Visual Identity Committee. To be frank, the last thing we need is another logo that ultimately may need to be eliminated orĀ  altered because of new standards for typography, color, etc.

In the interim, Creative Services can likely offer some version of one of the current William & Mary marks as a substitute if your department is looking for a graphic for communication.
